I contribute to FLOSS projects in hopes that the future will be better than the present. I am a mender of legacy code.

I am currently focusing on:

1. Maintaining the oauth and oauth2 gems which support authorization in a plurality of Ruby apps.
2. Maintaining the ruby-openid, rack-openid, and omniauth-openid gems which support authentication in many legacy, but critical, Ruby apps.
3. rubocop-lts - Rules for [every minor version of] Ruby: Rubocop + Standard + Betterlint + Gradual.
4. Patching to update dependencies, and bring each rubygem into compliance with rubocop-packaging so they can be included in the Debian linux distribution.
5. Modernizing CI workloads to include latest Rubies, and test against wide matrix of dependencies, via appraisal2.
6. Helping build gem.coop, including prototypes for scopes and a federated gem server.
7. Improve documentation, and investigate some of the thornier issues that have been raised in issue trackers.

Ruby continues to be my favorite language after 20 years! I hope the day will never come when I stop contributing into the Ruby ecosystem.

I recently did significant work on Apache SkyWalking Eyes to add compatiblity with bundler and rubygems, as well as adding ASF Category A and Category B licenses, FSF Free/Libre designations, OSI Approved designations, and all licenses listed at SPDX.org.
