The app

Notarium is a private, local-first Android app for people managing chronic illness or disability while navigating workplace leave and accommodations.

What it tracks

• Symptoms with time-of-day precision and one-tap logging from a home-screen widget
• Flares with severity, duration, triggers, and associated symptoms
• Medications with schedules, reminders, and intake history
• Mood alongside physical symptoms
• Assessments including PHQ-9, GAD-7, and other standardized screenings
• Factors — sleep, weather, stress, food, and custom variables that affect how you feel
• Cycle tracking with symptom correlation
• Water and drinks for hydration and beverage intake
• Health metrics from Health Connect (steps, sleep, heart rate, compatible sources)
• PTO, FMLA, and ADA accommodations with a documented evidence trail
• Report export for doctors, HR, an attorney, or the EEOC

Everything stays encrypted on the user's device.

About me

I'm Sophia. Senior information security engineer with 17 years in IT and security across regulated healthcare and financial services, CISSP through ISC2. I'm also someone who lives with the conditions Notarium is built for: POTS, hEDS, long COVID, and the neurodivergence and mental health that often comes with those.

I started building Notarium because I went through an accommodation process where every existing tracking app fell short of what the process actually required, and the paperwork I couldn't produce cost me. So it isn't an abstract project for me.

• Crash reports: manually user-triggered per report via "Report a problem," sent to a first-party endpoint I control

Why Liberapay

Liberapay's values match the project's: FOSS-aligned, no trackers, no lock-in, no surveillance. Donations flow directly to Notarium LLC's Mercury bank account and cover hosting, USPTO trademark maintenance, security audits, F-Droid and Play Store distribution costs, and the time this project takes outside my day job.
