I’m Brandon. I make music and have worked as a product manager in tech for the past 12+ years. Over that time I’ve come to appreciate the value of independence, and the principles that make it possible to survive & thrive as a small (or solo) business on the internet.
I believe this can apply to art & creator businesses as well – but the incentives of capitalism make it nearly impossible for everyday creative people to make sense of what’s possible to do on the internet, while avoiding the lock-in of walled gardens and algorithms. I intend to share my research and experiments tinkering with tools & services aligned most directly with creators, with the goal of informing and empowering more creators to build thriving businesses with fewer strings.
