描述

Hi, I'm Sascha. I build TalX: an Android messenger with no account, no phone number, and no company behind it.

The idea is simple — your messages belong on your devices and nowhere else. TalX connects two phones directly: over your local network when you're on the same Wi-Fi, over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when you're near each other, peer-to-peer over the internet otherwise. A relay only steps in when nothing else will work, and even then it never sees anything but ciphertext.

What's inside

🔐 End-to-end encrypted using the Signal approach (Double Ratchet), with a post-quantum hybrid layer on top: ML-KEM-1024, the FIPS 203 standard. Built against "harvest now, decrypt later".

📴 Works without internet. Two phones side by side keep talking over short-range radio even when the network is gone.

🙅 No account, no phone number, no advertising ID. You pair with a QR code, an NFC tap, or a short numeric code.

🎙️ Voice messages are transcribed on your device, and translation runs locally too. None of it ever leaves your phone.

Plus voice and video calls, group chats with forward secrecy, encrypted backups, and 91 languages.

Where it stands, honestly

TalX is at version 0.x. It runs on my two test phones every day, but it's still in development — and I write down every bug I find instead of pretending it isn't there.

What your support pays for

I build this alone, in my spare time. There are still running costs: the relay and TURN servers (so calls connect even behind strict mobile carrier NAT), the domain, test devices, and the Play Store fee.

Every coffee keeps this going — and keeps TalX what it is: a messenger with no business model built on your data. ☕
